The lag is propbably due to Nightfall streaming to your PC, if you leave your char select screen up for a bit, the game will stream all that it can/will in that sessions. After nightfall goes live the lag will probably end, or diminish.

There are lots of things that could be causing it. See this thread for some help. The defragging helped me a little bit (although I wasn't having much problem to begin with) and while I haven't uninstalled and reinstalled the game, I bet that might help too.
Good luck. |

1) This is not a question. At least, not one that anyone here can answer.
2) GW did not write itself. Make your complaint out to ArenaNet. 3) The lag has been there since BEFORE the stupid weekend events! I think. |

^...OR it can just be his ISP is acting up - I live in Toronto, Canada and I use Rogers Cable (6.0 MB). I have experienced nothing but smooth (connection) lag-free gameplay (other than occasional FPS spike/Computer Lag).
Commas please, punctuation FTW !! But ya, do what ischuros advised it'll help. EDIT: When I was typing this the ^ was referring to ichuros's post . Last edited by silv3rr; Sep 20, 2006 at 05:46 PM // 17:46.. |

Yes, the Lightning Bolt is probably your problem, it makes slower connections lag out.
Fix it by running Guild Wars under -image so it takes in all the data at once, then you'll have lightning bolt free gameplay until they add more data to the queue. Start: Run: "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image (or whereever YOUR Gw.exe is) |

I haven't had any trouble with lag, must be a server problem between you and guildwars.
I saw an interesting post concerning this in the Technicians Corner section of the forum. It mentions something about tracing the signal (or something) between your computer and Anet's servers to find the problem. |
